JOB SUMMARY
This position is an integral part of our HIV/AIDS Program. This position is responsible for overseeing and carrying out all elements as defined below. The position may be based in part in designated health centers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Responsibilities/Duties
- Oversee the delivery of Primary Care HIV Prevention (PCHP) and other HIV prevention services.
- Establish effective workflows to strengthen and improve the delivery of HIV prevention services
- Supervise HIV Prevention team staff and serve as point of contact for all staffing issues and updates
- Share staff updates with Co-Coordinator (Data and Quality Control) to facilitate coordination of required quality control activities
- Along with Co-Coordinator (Data and Quality Control) and HIV Program leadership, evaluate and plan PCHP and HIV prevention program services to meet evolving needs
- Foster strong relationships with internal/external providers and referral sources to identify patients that need linkage to preventative care
- Interview potential candidates for the HIV Prevention Program
- Train new hires and assist with staff onboarding
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate training to perform job duties, including but not limited to annual recertification
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings and training sessions as assigned
- Address and eliminate barriers to PrEP initiation and adherence
- Provide navigation coverage at designated health centers as needed
- Perform additional tasks as deemed necessary by HIV Program Leadership
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Public Health, Humanities, Social Work, or other health-related field
- Master’s degree in public health or other related subject preferred
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience working with vulnerable populations
- Sensitivity to, interests in, and competence in cultural difference, minority and women’s health, sexual practices, and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community
- Understanding of how HIV is transmitted and prevented, familiarity with PrEP
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with accountability, exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism at all times
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team
- At least 2 years supervising staff in a public health setting
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Power Point, CAREWare, and eCW
- Able to handle multiple tasks and manage project timeline with a high degree of organizational skill
- Ability to work with a variety of cultures and diverse audiences
Work Environment: Standard office setting with extended periods at work station and periodic use of office equipment.
Position Type and Work Schedule: Full time position, Work hours: 9:00AM to 5:00PM Mondy-Friday. Hours may be adjusted with approval of supervisor
Travel: Travel across Philadelphia area to main office location and several designated health centers.
Physical Demands: Ability to transport materials, routinely moves equipment or supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
