ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY

Ed Trust seeks an Associate II, Development on our Development team. The Associate II will join a staff committed to fulfilling our mission of closing opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.

The Development Associate II is the final reviewer and submitter for all formal grant submissions spanning the entire grants management lifecycle and supports donor communications, events, and engagement. This includes supporting the preparation of high-quality grant proposals/reports/funder correspondence, managing all grant submissions, tracking renewals, and writing/coordinating individual fundraising communications. This position interfaces with teams across the organization, including the communications team, and content team grant managers to accurately report activities and progress to our donors.

Available immediately, this role is based in our Washington, DC office and is eligible for telework for up to 3 days per week. The Development Associate II reports to the Chief Development Officer.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE II ROLE

The responsibilities and objectives for the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with program teams and development teams to edit and prepare high-quality proposals and reports (including required attachments), letters of inquiry, funder presentations, and stewardship updates for submission to funders, meeting all internal and external deadlines
  • Organize grant kick-off meetings and support grant managers in tracking grant deliverables throughout the grant period
  • Prepare donor correspondence on behalf of the CDO and/or President & CEO proactively and as requested
  • Analyze donor/grant data, generating timely reports to inform fundraising strategy and activities
  • Write and coordinate all online donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship communications
  • Coordinate fundraising events in collaboration with the development team, including donor engagement at advocacy bootcamps, salon dinners, funder briefings, and other opportunities to identify and cultivate new donors
  • Keep abreast of Ed Trust’s policy positions and research, as well as best practices in fundraising and donor database management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in related positions
  • Experience with Salesforce or other similar CRM
  • Demonstrated experience with grants and/or individual fundraising

COMPENSATION

This position falls within Level B of our salary structure for our Washington, DC office. The new hire range for this position is $57,848 - $72,310. Offers are commensurate with skills and experience.
