The Job: SMS & WhatsApp Engagement Associate

The SMS & WhatsApp Engagement Associate will engage with fans daily through SMS and WhatsApp plans, building lasting and trusted relationships. This role is critical in ensuring consistent and positive communication between Shujaaz Inc. and its fanbase, providing valuable insights, and assisting in the success of media campaigns and fieldwork activities.

Your Role in the Spotlight

  • SMS engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for fans via SMS, nurturing the relationship by responding promptly and professionally to all inquiries and messages. Provide consistent, courteous, and helpful responses to ensure positive engagement and customer satisfaction.
  • Whatsapp engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for fans through WhatsApp, fostering a professional and engaging relationship with fans. Address fans’ queries and concerns swiftly and effectively, ensuring that their experience with Shujaaz is seamless and positive.
  • Serve as a liaison: Act as a bridge between fans and internal teams, ensuring that fans’ concerns, feedback, and sentiments are communicated effectively to relevant departments. Ensure that fan feedback is incorporated into the implementation of media campaigns and other strategic decisions across the organization.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting: Produce detailed weekly reports summarizing fan insights, sentiments, and engagement patterns. Identify trends and patterns from fan interactions to inform improvements in engagement strategies.
  • Participating in Shujaaz events and fieldwork: Actively participate in Shujaaz’s on-ground activities, assisting with fan recruitment for SMS and WhatsApp engagement. Support content collection efforts during events, ensuring accurate documentation and fan feedback is captured for future engagement.

Who You Are: Skills and Superpowers

  • Exceptional time management and organization, able to multitask, prioritize and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience working in a fan or community engagement-focused role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Swanglish.
  • Experience working in a fan or community engagement-focused role.
  • Innovative and passionate about storytelling and making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Requirements That Shine Bright

  • At least 2 years of experience in communication and customer service.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a professional, friendly tone in engaging with fans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple conversations simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with WhatsApp and SMS communication tools, with experience in customer service or community management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to produce concise and insightful reports.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to the handling of sensitive fan data
  • Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contributing to Shujaaz’s mission.
