The Job: Networks Communications Assistant
Reporting to the Shujaaz Inc networks Team Lead, the Networks Communications Assistant is the first point of contact for our Network of Superfans. S/he runs the department’s communication centre which entails receiving all incoming and sending out all outgoing communication. S/he identifies issues raised in the communication and directs them to the relevant team members for resolution or follow up and also makes updates to the department’s database. Additionally, they take proper care of all the communication equipment and ensure they are in good working condition all the time.
Your Role in the Spotlight
- Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for all incoming communications to the SF Network.
- Receive, direct, and respond to communications (calls, emails, SMS, .. etc.) in a timely and professional manner with a view to increasing engagement levels.
- Reporting and analysis: Identify and assess issues raised through incoming communications and maintain records of communications received and sent, ensuring they are logged accurately for ease of reporting in addition to Keeping records and the database up to date by reflecting changes as they arise.
- Relationship Management: Effectively manage the engagement relationship between the organization and its network of superfans from across Kenya.
- Operations: Ensure that all communication equipment (phones, computers, systems) is well-maintained and in good working condition.

- Exceptional time management and organization, able to multitask, prioritize and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Strong verbal (Sheng, Kiswahili and English) and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage urgent communications.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new communication tools quickly.
- Good customer relationship management skills
- Innovative and passionate about storytelling and making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
Requirements That Shine Bright
- A diploma or degree in Communications, Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years experience in a communications or customer service role.
- Proactive problem solver, adept at quickly identifying and resolving challenges.
- Empathetic with exceptional problem and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
- Integrity, accountability and a high level of professionalism in the assigned role.
- Self-motivated, organized and meticulous about your work with a reliable work ethic and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment while remaining detail-oriented.
